Walk in the Woods Apiary is a publicly listed Florida State Certified Queen Breeder running 1,000 dedicated mating nucs.
Italian Hybrid (Italian/Carniolan) mated queens.
Our queens are caged at 21 days old at the earliest to guarantee proper pheromone development and mating.
If you want your queens to be shipped please call, text, or email for an up-to-date shipping quote. You will receive a PayPal invoice that must be paid in full before you are placed in line. You cannot place shipment orders through the website. We only ship UPS Next Day Air. Shipping is usually between $50-$100. 4 queen minimum for shipping. You will be contacted no later than one week before your requested date to update you on your order.

$24 50+ queens
$23 100+ queens
+$3 per queen if you want them marked
Cancelled orders will be charged 10% unless we are unable to meet our agreed upon caging date. In that case no cancellation fee will be charged.
Queen FAQ and Terms and Conditions
We sell reusable plastic battery boxes that hold 20 queens for $5 if you need a container for pick up orders. We DO NOT put attendants in the cages so you will need a container for us to shake nurse bees in unless placing the queens in your hive immediately. You MUST give your queens food and water every day or they will die even with nurse bees!!! If you are not installing your queens on the day you receive them they must be banked!
SHIPPING is available. While we strive to ship all queens as soon as possible we are sometimes at the mercy of the weather. Please be understanding that your order can be delayed if the weather is too poor to cage the queens. We ship Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only to reduce the risk of queens being held over the weekend. A signature will be required upon delivery so please be home and keep an eye on your tracking number.
Although we work very hard to make sure you receive only the highest quality queens, losing queens through the shipping process can happen. To mitigate any losses during shipping, we give 1 free queen for every 20 queens shipped. If ordering less than 20 queens, no additional queens will be added. We are not responsible for queens lost during the shipping process.
